The Integrated Project Joint – Chimborazo “Plenary Citizenship – Exercising My rights” was executed from 2004 to 2008, with the aim of promoting the exercise of a plenary citizenship among young people in the rural communities of Calpi and San Andrés of this Andean province in Ecuador, which enables them to make informed decisions about the style and projects of the life, to have the tools to affect the requests of the government, and to actively participate in the exercise of the local development plans to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.


GSD took the shared responsibility with the District of Riobamba, within the CIP, of supporting the youth organization in the areas of leadership and participation, which are the respected actions in the Social Capital; while in the Productive Capital, GSD took the responsibility of designing and implementing the microfinance mechanism for the development and reinforcement of the youth ventures, aimed at the self-employment generation.


The CIP was funded by the Kellogg Foundation, under the coordination of CRS, and its execution was carried out by GSD, District of Riobamba, youth organizations, and women associated with the Community Development Banks, to whom the Municipality of Guano, FEPP, and Ministries of Agriculture and Social Welfare joined.
