YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS
|
AN INFORMAL ALLIANCE
After the implementation of the Integrated Joint of Projects (CIP), a rural youth development strategy funded by the Kellogg Foundation, GSD will continue supporting the young entrepreneurs of the rural communities of the northern Chimborazo, in the self-employment generation through a continuous process of training and microcredit.
In support for the young entrepreneurs, the followings are involved:
The Kellogg Foundation, allocating US$ 89,700 to keep the Youth Credit Fund, which GSD has been administering since February 2005.
Hewlett Packard (HP), with the delivery of 13 pieces of the computer equipment, which GSD won in a regional competition for the young microentrepreneurs training, which are now in the Telematics Center that currently provides services in San Andrés, home of the GSD Foundation.
The Ecuadorian Professional Training Service (SECAP), has begun, with GSD and the young entrepreneurs groups, a relationship aimed at the formation and youth training in micro-enterprise issues.
PROMERICA Bank, becomes the custodian of the Credit Fund, which, in agreement with GSD, channels the funds into young people for the installation and development of the income-generating activities.
This is an interagency effort, which, without a formal agreement, constructs a process for the generation of decent self-employment for young people in a situation of inequality.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS' ORGANIZATION GETS RESTRUCTURED
|

To keep the youth organization being in force at the community level, a significant institutional effort is required, which GSD is not able to assume alone. Therefore, in accordance with the youth groups, it has been agreed that young people interested in the installation of the income-generating activities form the training groups, which along with its microenterprise training, benefits, with the credits of up to US$ 2,500, those young men and women to present their prepared projects in the training cycles.
